Those with children know how hard it is to keep their rooms looking tidy and clean, and this can be even more of a headache when you are trying to sell your house and a potential buyer is about to visit.
We have put together these 10 Top Tips to help make the struggle a little easier:
1. Make sure each child has his or her own storage spaces.
2. Put double hooks directly inside bedroom doors so coats and book bags can be hung up when they walk through the door.
3. Use all available wall space — build shelves and other storage areas in nooks and crannies.
4. Use the space under the bed to store rarely used items.
5. Give folders to each child for keeping school papers and notices in.
6. Give each child a drawer in a filing cabinet for “important” items.
7. Give each child a “sorting box”. Encourage them to walk through the house picking up their belongings and putting them into this box. They can then have a sorting out session later.
8. Give your child a selection of tubs with lids to keep small things in.
9. Buy a selection of large plastic boxes and “theme” toys.
10. Have a shoe cupboard/shelf by the front door — give each child a space inside that cupboard or on that shelf.
